I have been, until recently, a Social Worker, working in areas of housing, employment, and the developmentally disabled. I am a certified Employment Practitioner, and was a long term Level 3 Foster Parent. I wrote successful funding proposals and served as Treasurer on the Board of the Mission Indian Friendship Center. I have a large supportive extended family and for the past two years I have lived in Princeton.
When I ask the people of my town what they wanted to see in the people they elect to serve, they said: honesty, accountability, and a huge voice in the things that affect all Provincial taxpayers, such as healthcare, the economy and pollution. They want their hospital reopened, they want sustainable growth, and they want an active MLA presence.
The people in the Electoral District of Fraser-Nicola want many of the same things. They, and I, want an MLA who remembers at all times that their vote put me in office.
I am running for the BC Refederation Party because this is the only party that will pass legislation giving the people of BC " a huge voice in the things that affect all Provincial taxpayers". The BC Refed direct voting system gives the people the power to control politicians between elections, and no other party will touch that issue.
