I was borne in Oakville, Ontario and moved to British Columbia in 1987. I am employed as an engineer. I am married and have an eight year old son.
Like many people I have been frustrated by the declining freedom I see happening around us and by a feeling that we are less able to do something about it. Our parents have less control of school curriculum, we have unaccountable judges who change laws from the bench, and even political correctness hampering free speech.
The people of British Columbia's freedom is slowly being handed over to an elite. More and more we have a government for the elite, by the elite and of the elite. I would like to have a government for the people, by the people and of the people. I see the BC Refederation Party as our best chance to accomplish this. When this party is elected we will have legislation putting the last say on all issues in the hands of the people of BC, which will promote more grass roots and less elitism.
Also, with the returning of all powers that were decided by the people at confederation, back to this province, we the people, will have command of what's in our backyard. I believe also that this will promote Canadian unity because we will have no reason to feel snubbed by the federal government when more decisions are made in Victoria.
